>>.Chapter 9

(*) I wonder if this is love?...

"I wonder what I should do now?" Nimsi asked herself. "Should I give him..the power of a Majin?" She placed her finger tips on her forehead. "He's one of my childhood friends. He's..like my best friend."

Hesitating, Nimsi stood and walked out the door.

The halls of the school were filled with light. Doors lined the walls with numbers above each doorway.

Well, at least I don't have to go far, she thought.

Silently walking to the door across from her room, she knocked on room 415.

After a while of waiting, she could hear the locks being turned and twisted until the door cracked open.

"Jin?" Nimsi questioned.

"Nimsi?" The door opened Dan Jin looked at her.

"I-I need to-"

"Come in?"

He moved out of the way and opened the door for her to enter.

She walked in and stood next to his television while he closed the door.

Jin entered the room where she awaited and sat down on his couch.

"Now, what did you come here for?" He asked, putting his hands behind his head.

Perfect!

Fading, then appearing in front of Jin, she placed her forehead against his and closed her eyes.

She could feel her nose tickling his cheek, and tasted his breath on her lips. It was such a magical moment that she wish she could freeze time.

"Nimsi?! What are you doing?" Jin asked. She could feel him flinch from under her weight.

"Shh. Just concentrate."

"Nimsi! This-"

Laying her fingers on his lips, she opened her eyes and look at him.

"Just concentrate." She layed her hand on his chest and closed her eyes again.

Not knowing what was happening, Nimsi could feel her forehead burn as a warm sensation touched her skin. Then she could feel an even warmer sensation touching her. It was Jin' hands. The squeezed her arms so tight that Nimsi almost lost the concentration, but held on until the sensation faded away.

Pulling away from him, she opened her eyes and looked at him.

A mark of an "M" was engraved on his forehead, but his eyes were shut and heavy looking.

"Jin?" Nimsi whispered. She layed her hands on his cheeks. He was very cold.

"Jin?! Wake up!" She grabbed his shoulders and shook him lightly.

God, I killed him! Why me?

"BOO!"

A sudden yell from Jin made her fall out of his lap and onto the floor.

"Why you!" She yelled at the laughing Jin.

"Oh, c'mon Nimsi. Lighten up and take a joke."

"How can I with you? You're so impossible and immature."

She pulled herself up and glared down at him.

"I'm leaving now."

"Oh, no you're not!" Grasping her arm, he pulled her down onto the couch and started to tickle her stomach.

Silence.

"So you've lost you tickleness, huh?"

Silence.

"Well, fine then." He jumped off the couch and faded over to his desk. He sat down and started to write.

"What did you do to me?" He asked her, not looking up.

"Do you remember the forehead thing?"

"Yeah."

"I gave you the power of a Majin."

"Majin?"

"Yeah. It's a form that you'll go through when you're strong enough."

"Oh."

"Oh? Is that all you're gonna' say? No thanks?"

"No thanks."

Grrr! He makes me so made! But, then again..he's so sweet.

Smiling, Nimsi faded and appeared in his lap. She wrapped her arms around his neck and layed her head on his shoulders.

"W-What are you doing, Nimsi?" Jin asked unsteadily.

"You don't like this, Jin?" She asked, looking up at him cock-eyed.

"It's just that I'm not used to it."

"So is that a no? I can leave if you want."

"No, no." She felt his hand on her back. "You can stay."

"Okay." She then wrapped her arm around his waist and felt him flinch.

"Why are you holding on to me like this?" He asked, laying his hand on her hand that rested on his shoulder.

"Are you nervous?"

"Kind of."

"Don't be. Just enjoy this moment."

"But why?"

"Why do you ask 'why' so much?"

"Maybe because I need to know."

"I want to be close to you again, Jin. Like we were when we were small."

"That's the past, Nimsi. We're grown now."

"Yeah, I know. But that doesn't mean we can't be like we were. Jin," she pulled his face close to hers and layed her forehead against his. "Lighten up."

"Nimsi.." She could taste his breath on her lips again.

Jin picked up her head with his fingers and looked into her eyes.

"Jin," her lips now brushed against his. "I.."

At that sudden moment, someone rapped on his door.

Looking away from him, Nimsi faded back to the couch and flipped on the television.

"Come in," Jin called, taking a quick look at Nimsi, then back at the doorway.

The door clicked to close, and Nimsi could make out the familiar voice of- Kinichi.

"Hey, Jin. Just thought I'd drop by. Where are you?"

"I uh...am in the.." Jin turned to signal for Nimsi to hide, but she just sat a stared at the screen.

"Oh, there you are!" Kinichi yelped, appearing in the doorway.

"Kinichi, hi. What're you doing here?" Jin asked standing up.

"Just thought I'd drop by and see whatcha' been up to since the dance."

"Oh, nothing really. Do you think we could go outside?" He placed his hands on her arms and pushed her back. "Ya' know, this place is really a mess."

"Oh, sure thing."

Hearing the door clicking shut, Nimsi walked over to Jin' desk. It was filled with papers and pens that the wood of the desk top couldn't be seen.

"I wonder what he keeps in here?" She asked herself, opening the large middle draw.

Her eyes widened as she saw a gold locket shimmer.

Picking it up with care, she opened it up.

A picture on each side of the locket frame had Jin and herself when they were children. A melody of a song she used to sing floated out like a bird flying south. He had shown her this when he gave her back her memory, but she had not really paid that close of attention to it. Only to the vision it brought.

"My heart froze in early December. A feeling so strong I will always remember.." She hummed to herself. "Heart loving emotion that goes straight to the core. A-"

"Friendship so strong is now so much more."

Closing the lockect and hiding it behind her back, she asked, choking back anger: "Why didn't you tell me you had this?"

"It's the past, that's why. It's really not important now. And don't you remember me showing it to you when I gave you back your memory?"

"Yes."

"Well, then what's the big deal? It's only those memories from the past."

"You're really stuck on that, aren't you?"

"Yeah, so? It's just the truth?"

"Well, maybe I'd like to bring the past back."

"Don't you say that, Nimsi!"

"Why? What's the problem?" She looked at him, her rage now exploding.

"I'm..not sure. But I don't want the past. I want now."

"Now? What is there now? What's so special?"

"You, Nimsi."

"Me? There is nohing special about me. Nothing."

"Why do you say that?"

"Because it's the truth."

"Nimsi, most of your life you've hidden the truth, even from me."

"I told you everything!"

"You didn't tell me about you being a Saiya-jin."

"Ugh. I'm leaving." Nimsi tried to push past him, but he held her back.

"We need to work this out, Nimsi."

"What the hell is there to work out? Just let me go."

She placed her pointer and index finger on her forehead and slowly faded to her room.

She layed herself on her bad and slowly pulled the covers herself.

Oh, Jin. I'm so sorry.

Squeezing her eyes shut, she slowly drifted off into a restless sleep.
